Neighbors,
Now that we have a website ( www.greenbeltheightsna.com ) and have formalized a number of things in the association, it's time to plan our first community event as Greenbelt Heights!! We have isolated a Saturday in August that will be perfect for our event. So what are the details you ask, see our list below: Greenbelt Heights Fest 2015 August 15th, 11am - 3pm, 2015 Proposed Location: Street Closure @ Mira Mar & 8th (North toward the Greenbelt) Live Music Raffles Kids Crafts and Games Lots of Food (Potluck Style) Community Awareness & Networking Neighborhood Association Future Planning LOTS MORE Here is where you come in! We want all of our talented GH residents involved. We have event planners, artists, performers, community activists, and well beyond that...right here in our borders and we hope that we can tap into some of your expertise to make this event a BIG success. The association has defined a list of needs and perhaps you would like to fill that need with your time, passion, and energy. We are searching for the following: Potluck Coordinators - Food enthusiasts? Live Music Coordinators - Who would like to join Andrew Enriquez and I in finding performers? Activity Coordinators - Are you good with Kids? Do your friends think you thrown great parties? Logistics & Procurement Coordinators - Do you have access to chairs, tables, and party equipment? Planning Coordinator - Are you simply good at planning events and want to help? Promotional Coordinator - Do you have skills at drawing crowds? Let's fill this thread with neighbors who would like to join our efforts. Once we have determined who our volunteers are, we will try and coordinate individual or group meetings to get our event planned out. Hope to hear from all of you! Sincerely, Nicholas Lind President GHNA Please contact one of our BOD members. We are anxious to have unique updates about our neighborhood.
The morning of May 16, a number of volunteers (60+) from the Sunburst Youth Academy came to the west end of the greenbelt park in GB Heights to level the grounds and spread mulch, cleanup trash, carve out a distinguished path, and build a beautiful park for our community! Thanks goes out to the Youth Mentoring Program, Sergeant James Thomas of the Sunburst Youth Academy, including the Bruin Troops. Also, a special thanks to the Long Beach Parks and Rec and to Lenny Arkinstall to help support these efforts. Master Plan Link
